Job Description
KFMB Stations in San Diego has a unique opportunity to work in both radio and TV. We are seeking someone that can handle traffic for our radio properties (100.7 KFM-BFM and KFMB-AM 760); however, position will be cross-trained to assist with traffic continuity for our television properties (CBS 8 and The CW San Diego).
The position requires someone that is extremely detail-oriented and can prioritize according to fluctuating air dates and deadlines. Individual will use the WideOrbit traffic system and vCreative software for production and traffic continuity. Additional traffic responsibilities may also include commercial inventory management, programming implementation, revenue maximization, and/or station log preparation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Interpret and/or match commercial instructions to sales contracts.
• Enter client instructions into the traffic system for all local/national commercial copy.
• Ensure accuracy of commercial instructions in both vCreative and WideOrbit.
• Prepare and process copy changes as required.
• Assign commercial copy and maintain commercial library.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with sales managers, sellers and production regarding status of missing materials as well as commercials that may have aired incorrectly.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma required.
• Undergraduate degree in marketing, mass communication or related field preferred.
• Minimum of one year of radio traffic experience is required.
• Prior broadcasting or cable traffic experience may be helpful.
• Extensive knowledge of and experience with applicable components of WideOrbit (or similar traffic system) is required. Experience using vCreative is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft products including Windows, Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Great people skills and ability to work positively with all personality types.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
