Requirements
Position Description:
As a member of the physics content team, the content development intern will work under the guidance of our subject matter experts to assist in the creation and evaluation of new online physics homework problems and the assessment of our existing physics content library.
Major Responsibilities:
• Use recent experience as an undergraduate physics student to review new online physics problems from a student perspective, thereby helping to tailor the communication of difficult physics concepts to the needs of introductory students.
• Utilize practical experience with contemporary physics curriculum to help our subject matter experts assess the needs of our physics content library.
• Acquire familiarity with the tools and processes of Macmillan Learning in order to assist with the development and production of online homework content.
Required Skills / Knowledge:
• Completion of lower division, calculus-based physics coursework through modern physics with an average A grade.
• A genuine interest in physics education.
• Excellent written communication skills, and an ability to communicate physics concepts in an accessible way.
• Tutoring, peer instruction, and/or undergraduate learning assistant experience.
• User experience with online homework systems.
• Proven project management and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Tech savvy with ability to learn new systems.
• Familiarity with LaTeX typesetting is preferred.
