Description
About LaPlaca Cohen:
For 25 years, LaPlaca Cohen has helped many of the world's leading cultural and creative organizations build powerful connections and achieve greater impact through strategy, design, and advertising solutions. We have been privileged to work with clients who span the spectrum of the cultural and creative fields, including leading museums, theaters, orchestras, dance companies, architecture firms, foundations, corporate sponsors and collectors.
Our integrated range of services includes identity positioning, strategic planning, mission and vision development, market and audience research, as well as graphic design of organizational identity systems, advertising campaigns, communications collateral materials, websites and signage.
Strategy Intern Responsibilities:
The Strategy Intern will be an integral part of a small Strategy & Innovation team, a role that requires enthusiastic teamwork, adventurous thinking, and powerful research and writing skills. The Intern will gain valuable insight into the dynamics of the relationships between cultural organizations and the consulting firms they retain to support their artistic missions and engage broader audiences, in addition to the macro-level trends of 21st century cultural audiences at large.
Responsibilities include:
— Provide support on Strategy & Innovation department projects, which can include: positioning and messaging strategies, mission and vision statement development, strategic planning, audience development strategies, stakeholder interviews, peer benchmarking studies, etc.
— Conduct research for pitches and presentations, transcribe research interviews and meeting notes, and prepare materials for company speaking engagements.
— Assist with projects related to activating our Culture Track study, the largest tracking survey focused exclusively on the attitudes and behaviors of over 4,000 U.S. cultural consumers.
— Conduct ongoing trends and best practice research in all of the services LaPlaca Cohen offers and in all of the fields we work in. With the definition of what constitutes "culture" constantly expanding-and with audiences evolving due to larger cultural, technological, and economic shifts-the Intern will need to keep a finger on the pulse of societal trends and reference points, and consider how they affect the cultural world, and our work in particular.
— Support firm-wide thought leadership initiatives, which can include strategies for the following: conferences, workshops, website presentation, social media presence, blogging, cultural research studies, strategic partnerships, etc.
