Seeking a full-time Graphic Design / Office Assistant to assist the Chief Administrative Officer and Sales Associates at a nonprofit jewelry company in NYC. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, self-starter who gains energy from working with fast paced projects in a quickly evolving environment. We are looking for a college graduate who can wear many hats as this is a small office environment with a close-knit team. Someone creative, detailed-oriented, organized, and excited to help grow the business. We are a nonprofit organization, so we are looking for someone with demonstrated interested in nonprofit work. This is a fast-paced position with opportunities for growth and is best suited for an individual who is skilled at marketing towards Millennials and Generation Z.
The Graphic Design / Office Assistant will have a number of day-to-day responsibilities. Administrative duties will include updating the company and person calendar, answering phones and emails, assist in maintaining the company’s jewelry database and e-commerce, drafting invoices and press releases, processing donations and communications with charities, and packaging and shipping pieces. The Assistant will also aid in various design projects for the brand, so having advanced experience with programs like Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator is imperative. JHJ hosts and attends several events for non-profits during the year that include jewelry sales, so it is important to be knowledgeable/willing to learn the jewelry, know how to process a sale using our POS and be comfortable interacting with clients. Additionally, the Assistant will learn from our team how to carry out our NYC jewelry production through various vendors as well as how to communicate effective jewelry production in our overseas locations. Many of these roles can be taught to the right candidate, but the ideal applicant is a creative graphic designer with strong organizational skills.

Requirements:
• College Graduate with 1-2 years of office administrative experience or proven work ethic
• Experience with all Adobe design programs, especially Photoshop and InDesign
• Extensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs (Excel & Word)
• Proficient with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter & Tumblr)
• Excellent understanding of marketing towards Millennials and Generation Z
• Experience with and/or ability to learn the e-commerce platform Shopify
• Proactive, flexible and patient personality
• Extremely strong organization skills
• Ability to learn/think quickly on your feet and multitask
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Polite phone etiquette
• Excellent writing and proofreading skills
• Availability to work occasional late evenings and weekends for events and event preparation
