Requirements
Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group seeks a Marketing Assistant to support the School and Library marketing department. Assistant will learn about a variety of marketing responsibilities that are aimed at promoting our children's through young adult books to the librarian and educator market. This is the ideal job for someone who loves to travel and has a passion for children’s books.
Major Responsibilities:
• Plan and execute numerous mailings to school/library review outlets and key industry contacts
• Assist in preparing for and attending 6-10 national and regional conferences annually
• Coordinate submissions to national, regional, and state awards, and prepare award recap documents
• Manage the school & library social media accounts
• Create engaging and creative presentations, including PowerPoint
• Provide daily departmental support to the school and library marketing team, including maintaining databases, meeting preparation, review copy requests, and booking author travel
Required Skills / Knowledge:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize within a deadline-driven environment
• Superb organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at once
• Creative approach to problem solving
• Affinity for working as part of a team on group projects.
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Strong interest in children’s publishing
Experience Needed:
• Prior experience in book publishing and/or marketing a plus
Educational Background Required:
• 4-year college degree or equivalent business experience
