US Tax Director

The Director of Tax will be responsible for the management and coordination of all aspects of tax compliance, provision, audits and planning for the USA region.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the preparation of the income tax provision, including analysis of financial data, tax accruals and uncertain tax positions
• Responsibility for IFRS group reporting of USA tax provision figures and related schedules
• Provide oversight and support to USA region
• Strategic tax provision forecasts
• Supervise and coordinate the collection and analysis of financial documentation necessary for the preparation of corporate income tax returns and estimated tax payments and preparation of tax returns and related reports to ensure organization is in compliance with governmental tax regulations
• Supervise tax advisory and internal projects such as R&D credits, accounting method changes, nexus decisions, earnings repatriation, DPAD and transfer pricing
• Identify opportunities and implement solutions to minimize tax expense and cash tax payments
• Manage Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls for tax reporting
• Management of federal, state and local income tax audits
• Manage oversight of sales and use and property tax outsourcing
• Provide tax support for business planning initiatives, including tax basis analysis, intercompany financing and corporate reorganizations
• Research and analysis of company compliance with applicable tax laws.
• Work effectively with other sub-teams in the tax department including group reporting, business support, transfer pricing, strategy, indirect and employment tax including provision of training and updates on US tax environmental changes
• Assist with, and manage where necessary, tax department special projects
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 7+ years corporate tax experience in public or private industry
• SOX controls and financial reporting
• Strong knowledge of OneSource Tax Provision, Income Tax, GL Manager and other modules
• IRFS and ASC 740 experience and knowledge
• Demonstrated tax project management experience
• Experience with process improvement, proactively streamlining procedures and reporting
• Experience managing federal and state audits
• 4+ years staff management experience
Skills/knowledge
• Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to interact with management and other department/subsidiary personnel to obtain information
• Strong accounting, communication, technology, organization, and leadership skills
• Proactive in identifying issues and developing solutions
• Vendor management experience
