POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director, Learning and Development will be responsible for setting strategy and priorities to ensure that Condé Nast is building sales, digital, leadership, and management capabilities for the company’s employees. Additionally, this role will focus on creating a culture of employee engagement by developing programs that promote the company as an employer of choice in the digital media space. This role will also have opportunities to drive organizational performance by serving as a strategic partner to the business and a to help ensure HR is supporting business initiatives and that employees have the requisite skills to be successful in their roles.
The incumbent will need to think strategically and work across the organization to develop and deliver innovative, high-impact training programs focused specifically on digital media capabilities and sales. As the company continues to transform and develop its talent base, this role will be a key stakeholder in the evolution of the entire organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and facilitate sales enablement training modules to keep our revenue team up to date and knowledgeable about our evolving products and client opportunities
• Facilitate management and leadership programs and partner with peers to implement a Train the Trainer model.
• Partner with external vendors to deliver specialized training programs, as needed
• Develop and manage on and off site employee engagement events that create unique, only-at-Condé-Nast experiences.
• Manage and develop the Learning and Development Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 8-10 years human resources experience with at least 5 in a learning and development function t and 1 in a sales training function.
• Proven experience developing an organization's digital acumen, sales training and leadership skills.
• Must be an expert facilitator who possesses a strong presence and displays high levels of energy and charisma.
• Experience managing a staff and strong relationship building across an organization.
• HR Generalist experience a plus
• Considerable experience in project management, managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Strong understanding of instructional design and curriculum development methodologies.
• Proven effectiveness in identifying skill gaps through listening and interviewing business partners and subject matter experts.
• Experience in carrying out all activities in the training cycle: Design, Delivery and Evaluation.
• Strong interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills.
• Experience implementing and utilizing Talent Management platforms is a plus.
• Strong business acumen, organizational savvy and operational and technological perspectives.
• Strong communication and change management skills
• Experience with new and innovative learning techniques i.e. social, mobile, etc.
