What You’ll Do:
The Senior Product Manager, Classifieds Discovery, will be expected to grow the value and utility of your products in a dynamic, fast-moving marketplace, with success measured by product-specific KPIs. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, external partners and an agile team to build an ambitious roadmap and rapidly analyze, test, implement and optimize new and existing features and products.To succeed in this role, you must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, and the personal drive and charisma to make your vision a reality.
Traditional classified advertising categories – particularly help wanted, autos for sale, real estate and obituaries/family celebrations – remain vital revenue categories for our business. But they remain under continual pressure technological change. While this threatens our legacy advertising models, it also opens enormous new opportunities for us to explore. In this role, you’ll focus on ensuring consumer exposure for existing, improved and new listings-based experiences, including:
• Own the product development and consumer-facing performance of at least four listings-based verticals
• Develop and implement strategies, tactics and consumer experiences to increase consumer traffic to our listing products.
• Manage the full life cycle of those consumer-facing experiences, including tests of new models; deployment and expansion of successful tests; ongoing optimization of new and current traffic tools; and sunsetting of methods that no longer perform
• Work closely with our B2B product colleagues to ensure alignment with their suite of advertiser-focused products (whose results rely heavily on appropriate consumer traffic)
• Closely manage relationships with:
• Understand and explore unmet consumer and audience needs/wants/desires, and use that information to develop
Qualifications:
• 5-7+ years’ experience developing and managing consumer products.
• Bachelor's degree. MBA and/or other advanced training preferred.
• Ability to think critically and constructively about complex business problems, clearly communicate analyses, and present solutions that address business needs.
• Experience in identifying, analyzing and using data to independently test theories, confirm assumptions, and measure success with attention to detail.
• Curiosity and open-mindedness, with a knack for synthesizing and prioritizing stakeholder requests.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Decisive with a bias towards action.
• A highly motivated self-starter who can work effectively across cross-functional teams and also make things happen on your own.
• A strong communicator with great written and verbal skills.
• A team player and fun to work with. Loves to share inspiration and new ideas with your direct and indirect teams.
