Assistant Planner, Social Marketplace (Paid Social)
Job Description:
This position will be responsible for assisting with monitoring, optimizing, and reporting on our paid social media campaigns. Working with Supervisors and client strategists, you will assist with campaign management on our active buys.
The role will require strong communication and collaboration with other members of the immediate digital team – planning, community management, analytics and campaign management – as well as an industrious appetite and application to stay abreast of changing social ad products, user behavior, buying strategies and more.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Works closely with digital planners to provide rationale on targeting options, optimal reach and frequency, flighting, weighting, best practices, case studies, historical performance, ad products and buy strategies across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest to allow for holistic investment decisions to be made by the collective digital team
• Actively manages buys (via self-serve dashboards) from set-up to keyword selection to targeting buckets to optimization to reporting across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest
• Assist in developing proposals for paid social media campaigns across active client roster
• Become proficient in all internal buying and reporting tools, including self-serve API interfaces and native tools
• Assist in Team Reporting and Data Collection deliverables beyond dedicated client roster
• Own client roster reporting on campaign performance and proactively communicate any issues to internal team, Supervisors and client, when necessary
• Own and maintain active communication with internal client roster teams; to manage administrative and internal set-up, including reporting requirements, and optimization requirements, for ensuring full impact and efficiency of each campaign, with Supervisor direction and oversight
• Assist in setting up Client Paid Social Campaigns and Posts, via Self-Serve API platforms and Native Buying tools with oversight and direction from Supervisor
• Assist in measurement planning and pixel generation, UTM parameters, and third party ad tracking needs with Supervisor direction
• Assist in pre, during and post campaign optimization strategy planning and discussions with supervisor
• Optimize / Review all live campaigns, across all live social platforms Min 2X daily
• Generate high level performance insights and recommendation relative to active client campaigns in tandem with Supervisor; and communicate internally with Supervisor and Client teams
• Assist in completing and monitoring regular team and client financial tracking
• Attend Agency learning sessions and vendor meetings
• Client roster to include a mix of active agency clients, including 4-10 'Low Volume' clients
• Conduct client, campaign and data research supporting team client roster
• Assist in team level administration and planning, including, but not limited to, managing internal room booking services, maintaining vendor meeting communication, updating internal weekly and monthly status documents and maintaining team deliverables calendars
• Participate in internal Education module “Media 101”

Knowledge and Skills Required
• B.S. required with a degree in statistics, analytics, social media marketing, or digital marketing preferred
• Data-driven with strong analytical skills
• Would be interested in the data performance metrics side of social media rather than community/content management
• Past exposure from an internship or work experience to online advertising environments involving paid social buys a plus (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Snapchat, Pinterest)
• Related work experience or a past internship in social media paid buying / paid social planning a plus (experience working with research and/or analytics at a minimum)
• Attention to detail and great time management skills
• Strong proficiency with Excel (pivot tables a plus)
Certificates, licenses and registrations
Bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in Media Studies, Advertising or related field
