Associate Director, DSCVR
Job Summary
The Associate Director, DSCVR will steer the growth of Horizon Media’s new full service VR, 360 Video, AR and MR offering. Developing marketing strategies, overseeing creative ideation and production, as well as designing and activating distribution and measurement plans.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Leading responsibilities are as follows:
• New Business (25%): Source opportunities for DSCVR across NY and LA based clients, as well as brands not currently working with Horizon. Create unique proposals that deliver on client needs and objectives.
• Campaign Activation (25%): In partnership with the DSCVR team, launch VR, 360, AR or MR campaigns. Leading negotiation, partner selection and oversight, client service, and problem solving issues to a successful outcome.
• Relationship Development (20%): Establish and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, partner agencies and internal resources at appropriate level by serving as a key agency contact and liaison for projects.
• Supervision (15%): Guide career development of DSCVR team employees, overseeing fulfillment, happiness, productivity and excellent work product.
• Leadership (15%): Identify areas of opportunity for DSCVR to future proof the offering.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Associate Director, DSCVR is the supervisor for the Strategist, DSCVR today, and would supervise new hires as the team grows. The current supervisory responsibilities include:
• Guide the Strategist in setting goals and project tasks and timelines, ensuring Strategist has challenging, level-appropriate projects and opportunities to learn new skills.
• Manage performance reviews, coaching to maximize success, identifying training needs for improved performance, setting goals for career development and ensuring actions are taken.
Knowledge and Skills Required
• Bachelor Degree, with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in sales, digital strategy and/or business development.
• Preference given to recent experience in VR, AR, or emerging technologies; familiarity with creative ideation and content production.
• A self-starting, entrepreneurial mindset, with a passion for VR and AR.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to confidently present and “sell through” ideas both internally and to clients. Results driven.
• Prior experience in a client contact and leadership role.
• Ability to deliver creative and strategic recommendations with confidence.
• Supervisory experience developing professionals, with a demonstrated ability to manage a team of 1-2 people.
