Job Description
• Lead the development of high quality AAA lighting to support story, art direction and gameplay objectives
• Creation and maintenance of a prospering art culture and technical guidance within the Lighting Team, through training, mentoring, and reviewing assets for quality
• Prioritize, plan, and organize Lighting Domain tasks using Hansoft with the Producer/Associate Producer
• Identify and set up best practices of production workflow for the Lighting Team
• Translate conceptual illustrations into outstanding real-time lighting visuals
• Work with Art and Programming teams to anticipate and solve technical challenges within given constraints and visual requirements
• Identify risks within the schedule and suggest changes
• Delegate and assign work to team members using JIRA or other tracking tools used on the project
• R&D on new industry technology and trends to improve the project's lighting quality and efficiency
Qualifications
• Participate in portfolio reviews and assist in recruiting highly skilled talents for their team and the studio
• Establish lighting mood board and lighting visual targets based on Art Director's guidance and game design's needs
• Provides creative direction and feedback to concept artists on defining the mood for the project in pre-production
• Establish look development process for art content development and review purposes
• Manage the onboarding process and mentor new team members
Additional Information
• At least 6 years of professional lighting experience in game or film industry and able to adapt to different art styles
• At least 3 years as a lead role; at least one shipped AAA game title
• Ability to perform task planning with project manager, identify dependency, and communicate effectively with both Artists and Programmers in a large team
