Requirements
Purpose of the Role:
The Technical Recruiter will oversee talent acquisition across several business units within Macmillan Learning. You will use your strong, diverse recruiting background to fill the company’s critical positions in our Software Engineering, Site Reliability/Cloud Ops, Product, Learning Science, STEM Content Development, Customer Experience, and Marketing teams. In this position, you will be key in building an engaging and efficient talent acquisition process, and will have the ability to make a significant impact within the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Own the entire recruitment life cycle for employee and contract positions.
• Use creative sourcing strategies, fostering relationships with Universities and instructors nation-wide, establishing our presence in targeted networking associations, and thinking out of the box to find those “unicorn” or “purple squirrel” candidates.
• Proactively build a candidate pipeline utilizing various sourcing channels, including external jobs boards, social media, internet search, database search, etc.
• Partner closely with the HR team and hiring managers to understand strategic business objectives and develop strategies to meet current and future staffing needs.
• Collaborate with the HR and management teams to increase and promote brand awareness inside and outside of the organization.
• Research local compensation data, hiring trends, and talent pool changes to stay ahead of competitive challenges in the marketplace.
• Partner with our Diversity & Inclusion Council to discuss business needs and impact regarding D&I recruitment efforts, and implement strategic D&I recruiting efforts
• Attend job fairs, meetups, seminars, and other networking opportunities to evangelize our company and recruit for our positions. The qualified candidate will have an “Always Recruiting” mentality!
• Manage reporting on key recruiting metrics such as pipeline statistics, diversity goals, time to fill, etc…
Qualifications:
• Must be an energetic, detail-oriented, organized, and self-directed professional with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Is comfortable speaking with any candidate, whether they are a premier subject matter expert, instructor, or the king/queen of code.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work well and effectively with others; must be a highly collaborative team player able to balance team and individual responsibilities.
• Builds productive relationships across the Macmillan network and in the marketplace.
• Some travel as necessary (<20%)
Experience Needed:
• College degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of proven recruiting success.
• Experience managing a high requisition load
• Recruiting for Software Engineers with JavaScript Frameworks (Node, Angular, Bootstrap, React), Site Reliability or DevOps Engineers, QA Engineers, UX roles, and Product Owners would be a huge plus
• Experience in UltiPro ATS another big plus

The chosen candidate must be able to work on-site, during working hours, at our Downtown Austin, TX office.
