Content Training Designer

This position will work alongside designers, engineers, and operations professionals in Product Development. S/he will improve the onboarding experience for new technical employees and creating technical training modules with subject matter experts (SMEs).
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work well with a wide range of technical and management staff, work across various departments in a large organization to gather information, and independently develop materials.
Specifically, s/he will be responsible for:
• Learning employees’ information needs and creating a plan to address those needs.
• Create and maintain an environment for employees to learn new skills using a Learning Management System (LMS).
• Develop training materials for technical employees, either independently or in concert with a SME.
• Conduct trainings: one-on-ones, larger groups, and webinars.
• Manage the organization, timing, and delivery of training materials and technical knowledge.
• Help disseminate information about the organization's knowledge sharing program to internal and external audiences.
• Monitor usage of training materials among end users.
Other Responsibilities
• Conduct user research with Blackboard employees.
• Coordinate efforts with other teams throughout the company.
Professional Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience developing technical content.
Required Skills:
• Excellent editorial, writing, and analytical skills
• Outstanding interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly and apply new concepts
• Ability to explain complex concepts in layman's language
• Ability to contextualize and organize content in a user-friendly way
• 3-5 years of related experience in a relevant technical discipline
Preferred Skills:
• Instructional design experience preferred
• HTML, CSS, and image editing skills
• Understanding of digital content strategy and user experience design
Education
• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree
