Position Overview
The Construction Product Strategy Director is responsible for leading Construction Product Group (CPG) efforts in developing, communicating, executing, and sustaining the product strategy and roadmap for the construction portfolio. Using her/his deep construction industry and software experience, this individual will focus on leading the development of the product strategy and, in partnership with the business strategy team, create appropriate materials to communicate product plans to internal and external audiences. In addition, the Construction Product Strategy Director, working closely with CPG leadership and business strategy and marketing leadership, is responsible for jointly establishing goals, objectives, and metrics to determine if the product strategy is succeeding. This role reports directly to the Vice President of CPG, and will work closely with the group’s senior leadership and with counterparts across the company in business strategy and marketing, sales, and other organizations.
Responsibilities
• Manages and coordinates CPG’s involvement in the corporate strategic planning process
• Working closely with CPG leadership and business strategy and marketing leadership, leads development of the product strategy and roadmap, utilizing industry trends and outlook, and competitive intelligence
• Leads Product Management core team, to drive consistency in research, customer analysis, and product planning
• Ensures the product strategy is consistently communicated and easily understood by all throughout the organization
• Acts as internal and external evangelist of the product strategy
• Ensures that appropriate metrics are in place to measure performance and progress towards product goals. Ensures that strategic actions are completed at various levels to achieve desired results
• Acts as a key advisor to CPG staff, utilizing industry knowledge and experience, to influence product plans
• Stays abreast of the competitive landscape, global marketplace and external business environment in partnership with the business strategy and marketing leads. Also stays abreast of technology trends and industry trends, and their adoption in the construction sector
Minimum Qualifications
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in construction, with specific experience in both preconstruction planning, and project execution
• Deep knowledge and hands on experience with a variety construction software technologies/tools
• Track record with strategic planning, development, and execution
• Ability to apply a variety of strategic frameworks to analyze problems and to guide and develop product strategies
• Ability to translate and communicate complex topics in a variety of forums, tailoring communications to effectively fit and influence the targeted audience
• Strong executive presence, presentation and communication skills
• Influence, build bridges, and collaborate with design, engineering, and product management functional areas across the organization
• Ability to work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders, customers, and partners
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster relationships with various internal teams and key stakeholders
• Strong analytical abilities in order to identify portfolio strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities
• Master’s Degree or an equivalent combination of a Bachelors degree and experience
