Description
The Custom Content Editor oversees the creation and coordination of sponsored content products for IGN. This position works directly with the games, entertainment, and social media teams to produce high-quality written and video content that benefits our readers, our staff, and our advertisers.
What does that mean exactly?
● Participate with editorial management and integrated marketing to shape and execute on IGN's overall custom content strategy.
● Promote and enforce ethical standards with regard to advertising policies.
● Manage the conception, workflow, and schedule for written custom content and align those efforts with those of the video team.
● Anticipate and prepare for future changes in advertising, consumer trends, and online publishing.
● Collaborate with senior content managers and feature creators to raise awareness of existing series and develop content-based solutions in response to new ad proposals.
● Coordinate custom content efforts across multiple departments.

● You are familiar with and passionate about the brands, companies, and personalities of the games and entertainment industries.
● You understand the wide range of internet offerings – video, lists, articles, social stories, etc. – and how to produce and promote them to best effect.
● You thrive in a fast-paced, creative, ideation-heavy environment.
● You are a creative writer and can tell stories that help other people understand and support your point of view.
● You have experience developing and programming original content for a dedicated audience of pop culture fans.
● You are focused on creative solutions and direct collaboration with multiple teams.
● You are proactive, organized and detail-oriented. You can devise and maintain documents and tools to clearly and concisely share information between teams.
It would be extra awesome if…
● You have previous experience fielding sponsored custom content requests.
● You have experience with video production or video creation workflows.
● You have experience assigning freelance work and managing an Editorial budget.
● You are already part of the IGN community.
