Job Description
The Blue 449 Seattle Digital Investment team is the heart of our agency ecosystem, enabling the fulfillment of media strategy into compelling consumer experiences. This team owns media recommendations, execution and the operational excellence to efficiently deliver both. We’re looking for a digital native with a strong media background as well as fluency in the intersection of data & ad tech.
The Digital Investment Director will oversee the campaign stewardship process from initial media brief to post-campaign analysis for a fast-paced, large media account. Media will pivot across both brand and demand gen media, requiring aptitude in demand gen and high impact, branding tactics. This includes brokering media allocations across programmatic and direct deals as well as partnership with event/sponsorship, social and broadcast teams for cross-channel activation. Results drive every media decision, requiring close collaboration with analytics teams.

The right candidate for this role will possess the ability to remain head-strong, calm and positive on a dynamic, fast-paced account with demanding clients. We are seeking someone with the ability to juggle multiple client needs while maneuvering sudden changes of direction with ease and foresight. Communication / People skills are a must as there is significant interfacing with many personalities across various disciplines and experience levels.
This role will report into the SVP of Digital Investment.
Media Responsibilities
• Partner closely with the Strategy team to ensure alignment with client direction
• Build alliances with internal offline teams to drive more cohesive cross-channel execution
• Oversee negotiations to ensure teams are actively securing high value, premium placements and competitive rates
• Oversee the development and quality of media presentations
• Partner with Analytics to ensure measurement plans are actionable and relevant to media buy
• Drive thought leadership through the development of POVs, trainings and other learning opportunities for internal teams and clients
• Maintain knowledge of applicable and emerging technologies. Understand and adopt new trends and/or processes in digital media for clients and for Blue 449
• Create, reinforce and optimize internal processes to ensure the accurate execution, delivery and quality of all digital media
Relationship Development
• Forge senior-level relationships with media publishers and internal agency counterparts
• Serve as point of escalation for client issues and concerns
• Ensure key information is provided to team in a timely manner including any client, internal agency or vendor issues
Management Responsibilities
• Oversee a team of 15+ media professionals from Assistant Media Planners to Associate Media Directors
• Build the next generation of media leaders through active training & mentoring of Associate Media Directors and Supervisors
• Proven track record of flawlessly managing issues, teams and clients
Financial Duties
• Support the SVP of Digital Investment in the management and negotiation of partner agreements
• Oversee the restitution process for ad verification violations
• Monitor all approvals and client budgets
• Oversee the payment and reconciliation process to ensure accurate payment and timely resolution of discrepancies
Qualifications
8+ years of online media planning and negotiating experience in an interactive agency
• A minimum of 5 years of management experience
• Strong mathematic and analytical skills
• Familiarity with DMP, DSP, Rich Media, Ad Serving, Ad Verification and Analytics platforms
