The Sr. Mgr. System Performance is responsible for activities related to the design, capacity, and maintenance of all Air Interface Systems, will support System Performance engineers by providing tools, training, and leadership to achieve optimal network performance for U.S. Cellular customers. This role is responsible and accountable for the overall performance of RAN Networks.
• Provide leadership and vision to motivate, inspire and challenge the System Performance team to achieve their full potential.
• Responsible for creating an environment that fosters team work and that embodies the values, behaviors, and culture of the organization.
• Hire, develop, and evaluate ongoing performance of the System Performance associates.
• Develop System Performance associates by identifying growth opportunities and ensuring that all associate have the knowledge and tools to be successful.
• Work with Network Operations, Switch Engineering, and other System Performance teams to insure proper design, testing, and operation of network enhancements; to include new site builds, cell modifications, capacity management, and switch enhancements
• Responsible for timely resolution of customer trouble tickets, customer complaints, executive complaints, and/or any other customer affecting issues.
• Provide executive reporting and communications related to System Performance.
• Responsible for delivering optimal performance of the CDMA network by overseeing design, integration, and maintenance of antenna and data-fill optimization, hardware and software upgrades, and other system modifications or upgrades
• Work with the Engineering teams to identify and prioritize new cell site requirements.
• Act as the subject matter expert of System Performance in supporting the Sales and Marketing teams. Responsibilities include answering technical inquires related to in-building penetration, network performance, coverage issues, and customer/handset issues.
• Manages Capital and Expense budgets, as well as provides input and development to succeeding year’s budget.

• BSEE or equivalent experience required.
• 6-8 years experience in cellular communications systems required. Leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to be a leader who can set and/or implement strategy and course of action, and hold associates accountable for performance, is required.
• Excellent management, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are required.
• Proven track record in rolling out technical projects is preferred.
• Business knowledge of the wireless industry required
• Strong PC skills required along with knowledge of diagnostic, post processing, and predictive software.
• Outstanding analytical, negotiation, and influence skills required.
• Travel required - 30%-50%
