Overview and Responsibilities
Distribution & Business Development (DBD) is the department responsible for negotiating distribution agreements, maximizing revenue, and marketing opportunities from traditional (Comcast, DirecTV, Verizon FiOS, etc.), digital (Amazon, Hulu, Netflix, etc.) and new media distribution channels while ensuring that fans can discover and engage with Viacom content on every available device and platform
Job Summary:Supporting the day-to-day responsibilities of the Business Operations team within DBD. This includes managing (i) Viacom’s domestic linear signals as it pertains to their use by our Distribution partners; (ii) the portfolio of business applications required internally and externally; and (iii) operational on-boarding, integration and management of existing and new media product deployments (e.g. VOD, DAI, TVE).
Core Responsibilities include:
Signal Management
• Manage the linear signal distribution process, interacting directly with the Viacom Network operations center, distribution partners, transporters and billing cooperatives on daily basis.
• Handle all aspects of signal reconciliation to ensure the on-going accuracy of signal related data.
• Work on signal related projects, such as transponder changes.
Business Application Management
• Provide business support for the suite of applications used internally and by our Distribution partners, this includes training, troubleshooting and developing business requirements.
New Media Operations
• Support the day-to-day business operations around existing new media product deployments and on-boarding new and existing partners.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• 1 – 3 years industry experience preferred. Srong internship experience accepted.
• Strong Excel skills, with proficiency in all Microsoft Office products.
Additional Qualifications
• Strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills and ability to interface across multiple levels, and across groups.
• Candidate should be extremely detail-oriented, reliable and a self-starter who is capable of multi-tasking and keeping information well organized.
