Overview
HarperCollins Christian Publishing is looking for a motivated professional to launch and to lead our corporate SEO/SEM initiative. This person would lead in vision-casting, educating large groups with different backgrounds, and developing and executing detailed SEO/SEM strategies.
Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities:
• Ability to make a significant impact in the first 90 days by creating an executable plan for the organization.
• Vision casts long/short term strategies, develop guidelines for broad and tailored SEO initiatives and set KPI’s at company, team, site and product levels
• Maintains high levels of education in the SEO space and stays abreast of innovations and trends in SEO
• Develops reporting & dashboards to successfully communicate the effectiveness of strategic SEO efforts
• Guides publishing teams on SEO strategy and focus as it pertains to their individual vertical/authors/process
• Decides what to test and then develops and executes tests and tracks performance with BrightEdge and Google Analytics
• Identify, analyze and educate on key SEO trends/insights (both for our internal platforms and external competitors)
• Improve content optimization through keyword discovery, optimization and education in multiple publishing and blogging areas
• Increase traffic to individual and company-wide websites by recommending technical changes to enhance SEO via changes in web structure, content, links, backlinks, etc
• Monitoring both white and black hat SEO strategies to ensure search engine compliance
Qualifications
Knowledge:
• Demonstrated success with SEO and internet marketin
• Experience with a variety of SEO tools such as Google Search Console, MozPro, and Brightedge
• Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
• Existing knowledge of technical SEO, SQL, and HTML is strongly preferred
• SEO experience ideally in both B2B and B2C/consumer businesses.
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of how SEO plays into PPC, including Google AdWords, optimization.
Work Experience:Preferred candidates will possess 4-5 years of proven complex SEO development and SEM development (PPC marketing experience). Demonstrate solid skills in performance marketing, conversion and online customer acquisition. Demonstrated experience/certification with web analytics and a working knowledge of programming languages.
Education:Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, e-commerce, or a related field and proven track record or certification in SEO/SEM
Industry Knowledge:Knowledge of HCCP family of authors is preferred. Publishing industry is not necessary.
Skills:
• Certification in analytics (i.e Google, etc.)
• SEO management experience
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and programming language.
• Presentation skills including creating effective PowerPoint/other presentation tool.
Additional Skills:

• Work well with a variety levels of leadership
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
