I. Job Summary
| Major goals and objectives.
Perform image and content production work for assigned Websites, and process and distribute Digital Editions. Work directly with internal customers and third-party vendors to understand needs and ensure expectations are met; this includes accurately completing work by requested deadlines. Assist Assistant Director, Digital Premedia Services with the development and implementation of new technologies and workflow improvements. Digital Producer will consistently perform at a level that meets or exceeds performance standards, as established by Assistant Director, Digital Premedia Services.

Perform work for Websites in various Content Management Systems (CMSs). Primary tasks include processing images (sizing, cropping, color-correcting, and/or other image manipulation) and building site content (such as stories, slideshows, quizzes, and tools) and might also include building/coding HTML, distributing digital content to licensing and syndication partners, activating sponsorships, and uploading PDFs to Websites. Perform work for Digital Editions, including processing Straight-from-Print editions and working directly with third-party vendors to verify Digital Editions are produced and distributed to specification. Digital Producer must perform quality assurance testing of each completed request and provide site/technology troubleshooting and maintenance, as needed.

Assist Assistant Director, Digital Premedia Services to pre-plan new work and provide feedback to improve existing workflows and implement new technologies. Includes testing of new software and Website functionality and developing/updating workflow documentation

Assist in maintaining operation's accounting procedures, including daily tracking of jobs, schedule adherence, and time spent per job/piece of work.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements| All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Computer Science, Graphic Design, or a related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
At least 2 years experience performing print, digital, or Website production functions (including design and image manipulation). Experience with video editing software desirable. Working knowledge of Web tools and software, including Interwoven, CQ5, Drupal, and Dreamweaver.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven experience in Web and/or Digital Editions production with ability to learn and implement new software/systems. Must be proficient in HTML and Macintosh and Windows operating systems, and have a working knowledge of Digital design tools and content management systems. Exposure to workflow management systems and digital asset management systems a plus. Must be able to work well with creative people and take subjective instruction from editors. Excellent organization, communication, and problem solving skills. Must be able to work well under pressure and under tight deadlines.
