Bose is looking for a Platform and Services Product Manager to help us with the next big thing – a new business to help millions of people live healthier and more engaged lives in ways they didn’t imagine possible. You’ll own the product vision, craft compelling user stories, and work closely with our design and development teams to deliver key services in this emerging space. We’re looking for someone with platform, service, and artificial intelligence experience to help us drive our vision forward.
We are stretching our vision and obsessive approach to providing customer benefit by improving people’s lives in fundamentally new ways beyond audio entertainment. Our emerging businesses leverage new-to-the-world technologies, along with academic and corporate partnerships, and translate them into compelling consumer experiences that make a difference. This group has the bold attitude and energy of a startup with the financial backing and market leadership of a world-class brand.
Within Wellness, we’ve launched our first product to a group of early adopters and are working on additional prototypes that we believe will resonate strongly with consumers. Now that we’ve validated customer demand, we’re looking to the future by investing in a platform that will delivery key personalization and coaching services. This is where the New Product Manager – Platform & Services comes in. This is a unique opportunity to do the most creative and impactful work of your career.
As a Platforms and Services Product Manager on this team, you’ll work as a trusted partner with the development, user experience, research, and QA teams to help us bring this vision to life. You’ll also interface regularly with other software and consumer electronics NPMs to create experiences that cut across categories. This role requires someone comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders to deliver on a vision.
If you enjoy making a real impact on a growing business and the world, and you enjoy working on teams with other smart people, then we want to meet you.
Requirements:
Passion: You are driven – in your personal and professional life – by a burning desire to make a difference and change the world. There’s a reason this one is listed first.
Product Management: You have strong platform, service, and artificial intelligence product management experience, to include visioning, roadmap ownership, and backlog prioritization; competitive analysis; product definition and user story creation; and familiarity working in an agile environment. Comfort working collaboratively with user experience and engineering colleagues in this type of environment is essential.
Partnerships and Integrations: You recognize when an experience is better delivered via partnership and/or integration. This includes but isn’t limited to some bigger app players in the market who may be able to complement our offerings.
Launch Strategy and Execution: You are familiar with platform strategy and have worked to build easily consumable microservices. You’ve partnered closely with QA and BizOps teams to ensure that releases run smoothly and, when challenges arise, you’re comfortable driving high priority defects and bugs to closure. Lastly, your ability to partner with our launch execution teams is essential in ensuring the quality of high-profile releases.
Communication: You have the highly-polished writing, presentation, and negotiation skills necessary to sell your ideas internally and to and to have your messaging resonate with consumers. You are able to distill numerous and complex ideas down to simple messages. You have a proven ability to drive cohesion and collaboration among many different people and functions. You know how to motivate others.
Confidence: You have the presence and credibility to command the respect of partners, journalists, senior stakeholders, and colleagues across all functional disciplines.
Innovation: You have experience with innovation and new-to-the-world software products and businesses, rather than incremental product line extensions. You have an affinity for emerging technology (e.g., consumer wellness, IoT, AR/VR), market trends, and new gadgets. What we want you to help us with is not simply optimizing an existing experience, but rather to launch something really big, really new, and really cool.
Analytics: You have deep critical thinking skills and familiarity with key software KPIs and success metrics. You’re comfortable analyzing engagement, retention, and A/B testing data and have experience working with common analytics tools like Mixpanel, Localytics, Kissmetrics, Omniture, etc.
Organization: You are capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing your own work, as we balance the conflicting demands of product development, user testing, research, and launch planning. You can juggle multiple balls at once.
Grit. You are a go-to person who can be counted on at crunch time. You don’t take ‘no’ for an answer. You find a way.
Learning: You have an insatiable interest in learning about technology, software trends, and changing consumer needs, and you regularly incorporate that learning into your own work. You strive to get better, every day.
Education:

8-10 years of experience in Product Management role
Advanced business degree (MBA) is a plus
