The New Products Introduction (NPI) Sourcing Manager is responsible for implementing best-in-class subcontract management practices that leverage in-place relationships and optimize supply base performance for CM, ODM, JDM programs. This person interfaces heavily with external suppliers, internal manufacturing, engineering, quality, and program management team members to improve cost, delivery, quality and lead time for external manufacturing new program launches. They are an integral member of the Global Supply Management team and the Integrated Product team. They support and collaborate with senior Bose leadership, Program Management Office, Engineering, and Material Program Managers, at all levels as well as with other Bose's businesses and external suppliers.
• Act as a liaison between the Product Development Team, Engineering, Quality, Operations and Supply Chain during the product development cycle.
• Oversee and participate in high value subcontract negotiation
• Working in collaboration with the Product Development Team, coordinate early supplier involvement in highly technical and/or complex new products, parts and designs to optimize quality and meet production schedule
• Develop and maintain strong business relationships with the subcontractors
• Managing subcontractors to meet all subcontract requirements including but not limited to financial obligations and mitigating cost overruns, schedule, technical and quality requirements
• Manage administrative tasks including the coordination and support of milestone payment, performance based payment, invoice review, and ongoing communication with the subcontractors and program teams
• Measure the effectiveness and performance of subcontractors across the products lifecycle
• Ensure subcontract compliance with Company policies , Public Laws in Government and commercial environment such as ITAR and import/export requirements
• Perform supplier risk assessment, identify potential risks and impacts, and develop mitigation plans
• Coordinate, align, and negotiate continuing engineering programs with external suppliers by working closely with the Strategic Sourcing Leads and internal Bose Continuing Engineering (CE) teams
Required Skills:
• 4+ years in contracts / subcontracts within the CM, ODM, JDM procurement environment
• Experience with managing suppliers for the development of major complex assemblies
Desired Skills:
• Skilled in addressing and negotiating change management with Supply Base
• Experience interfacing with all levels of internal Management and Supplier Management
• Proven ability to build and maintain solid relationships based on mutual respect with senior level internal and external customers and peers
• Demonstrated ability to influence key decision-makers and to effectively negotiate with Subcontractors
• Working knowledge of and ability to insure subcontract compliance with Public Laws, Bose policies, Federal, ITAR and import/export requirements
• Experience in Consumer Electronics Audio/Automotive Technology Programs and managing the supply base
• Demonstrated ability to understand financial information, budgets, and program performance
• Demonstrated ability to develop strategies to improve performance in these areas.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Experienced in various business models and contract types
• Experience using SAP
• Exemplary oral and written communication skills, ability to listen well and communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships based on mutual respect with peers customers and team members
Required Education:
BS/BA in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or any major related to the job description
