Job Summary:
The Senior Vice President, Research & Insights develops research programs that generate revenue for Clear Channel by illustrating the value and return on investment that out-of-home advertising brings to Clear Channel’s customers. This position works closely with Sales & Marketing leadership to develop metrics, messages and materials to help expand existing business and create new opportunities
Clear Channel has made significant strategic investments in the use of digital mobile data to enhance our ability to generate audience insights and measure campaign impact.
Role Responsibilities
• Overall product responsibility for the Clear Channel Outdoor RADAR suite of solutions. Drives ongoing product development and additional solutions based on insights into customers’ business challenges, competitive understandings and innovations in the broader OOH, digital and mobile media sectors.
• Develops and manages partnerships with data suppliers and vendors who support our digital data strategy, ensuring the ongoing evolution of RADAR as a suite of solutions and innovations that continue to unlock the value of OOH audiences
• Works with Sales and Marketing teams to help craft proposals that utilize our data products and can tell a data-centric, audience-driven story about the value that Clear Channel’s media solutions deliver to clients
• Supports the ongoing education and training of Clear Channel’s Sales and Marketing teams on research and data best practices and business applications; RADAR, Scarborough, Kantar, MRI, Geopath, etc.
• Manages and leads a team of research professionals located throughout the US (currently NY, SF and LA), ensuring that all Research department activities support CCO in delivering on its business goals & objectives while providing valuable solutions to customers.
• Understands the voice of the Consumer and Advertiser, and translate this knowledge into competitive advantages across all Clear Channel Outdoor advertising platforms and programs.
• Develops and maintains a knowledge base of relevant local and national market intelligence and trends, including research methodologies, evolving technologies, consumer behaviors, client expectations, shifting competitive landscape, etc.
• Provides annual research budget recommendations and manages ongoing research budget.
• Acts as a driving force for change, ensuring the integration of data & insights into all areas of the business and the adoption of best practices across local Clear Channel teams. Drives the CCO Research agenda in terms of “future-proofing” solutions to ensure Clear Channel remains nimble and responsive to industry developments and technological innovations.
• Acts as a senior-level industry spokesperson by representing CCO on relevant industry bodies, as a conference speaker, through relevant press, etc.
• Participates on industry association research committees (e.g., OAAA, Geopath) to help inform industry strategies, set industry standards, and identify industry priorities for repositioning OOH to grow the sector
Job Qualifications
Education
• Undergraduate degree in Math, Statistics or related field;
• Graduate degree in relevant field preferred.
Experience
• 10+ years of ad sales research experience at a traditional or digital media advertising company, including five (5) or more years managing a team of professionals.
• Experience developing and managing research and data products is preferred.
Skills
• Deep knowledge of data analytics, digital mobile data and the operations of the broader digital media ecosystem.
• Proven ability to understand business objectives, analyze complex data sets, and develop insights that enable Sales and Marketing teams to tell the story of the value that Clear Channel Outdoor delivers to advertisers.
• Expertise across a range of research and analytics approaches, including behavioral data, primary research and syndicated data sources.
• Self-starter with entrepreneurial drive and an ability to organize, prioritize, and clarify deliverables.
• Ability to create productive, long-term internal and external relationships.
• Profound business acumen and insightful understanding of industry trends & revenue drivers
• Ability to make tough business and people decisions while creating positive energy in the face of ongoing change and uncertainty.
• Ability to push self and others to excel and execute in a multi-task, fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to balance data analytics, problem solving, and moving forward with speed to achieve maximum results.
• Excellent presentation, writing and communications skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

• This job is performed in a temperature controlled office environment.
Other Requirements
• Able to travel outside of the office 50% of the time for client & corporate meetings and industry events. Some international travel may be required.
