Palace Entertainment is currently seeking candidates for the position of General Manager at Boomers’ Family Entertainment Center in Palm Springs.
The General Manager provides leadership, direction and control for all aspects of this family- oriented attraction. This includes managing all activities, events and programs associated with the park in accordance with company policies, procedures, and ethical business practices. The ideal candidate will possess proven leadership and problem-solving skills, the ability to manage a diverse team, generate and monitor sales and revenue, while controlling expenses and providing excellent customer service to ensure a safe and enjoyable guest experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for supervising managers and support staff engaged in daily operations while handling multiple tasks and priorities.
• Visit all guest areas regularly, tour and inspect the entire facility frequently during the course of shift. Maintain daily and regular interaction with employees and guests throughout the facility to monitor and audit all aspects of the park. Ensure organizational quality standards are delivered consistently for team members and revenue centers within the location.
• Oversee the management of all operational functions of assigned revenue centers, including profitability, marketing, sales and COS, finance, growth, cleanliness, staffing, safety, proper food handling, risk management, and guest relations.
• Supervise group sales programs to maximize sales potential and achieve revenue goals.
• Ensure responses to inquiries for parties and group events are generated on a timely basis with appropriate follow through and assist with managing sales calls as needed.
• Accountable for adherence to all cash control policies. Responsible for accuracy and security of company funds including bank deposits and internal cash funds for assigned location. Maintain ticket, token/game card, and pass/certificate control.
• Develop, implement and achieve budgetary goals. Maintain appropriate control of expenses, labor hours, operating costs, and inventory within budgeted guidelines.
• Research and recommend new products and vendors to enhance guest satisfaction, sales, and cost control. Maintain positive vendor relations through professional courtesy and develop new vendor relationships to enhance operations.
• Ensure that facilities are maintained in accordance with company risk management and safety standards and regulations. Recommend facility and equipment improvements to achieve these standards.
• Maintain appropriate inventory control of operating supplies.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Ability to analyze financial information, costs, inventory and sales to achieve maximum profit potential and address variances for a multi-million dollar facility.
• Demonstrated leadership ability to motivate and lead staff to achieve organizational goals and serve as a leadership partner with other managers, vendors, and Palace Entertainment staff, while ensuring delivery of quality guest service.
• General knowledge of computers, POS systems, various electronic devices, and various software programs. Cash handling experience desired.
• Excellent communications, organizational and analytical skills; ability to problem solve and address multiple priorities with appropriate timeliness and follow through.
• Demonstrated ability to visually assess and evaluate safety hazards in the work place. Must have mechanical aptitude to identify defects, improper operation with ability to analyze and understand the situation.
Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
• 5-10 years of managerial experience in a guest service industry with demonstrated ability to ensure guest satisfaction with ability to train others to maintain on-going guest service delivery. Knowledge of amusement industry standards, as well as applicable health and safety regulations preferred.
