Requirements
Macmillan Learning is pleased to announce an opening for a Marketing Manager position to represent our mathematics and statistics lists. These lists boast both established texts and new projects and technology initiatives that the marketer can share in launching to the world. This position can be based in the field or operate out of our offices in New York, Austin, or Hamilton.
Major Responsibilities:
• Create and execute internal and external strategic marketing plans, in coordination with W.H. Freeman marketing and editorial, to promote titles and to achieve sales forecasts.
• Travel with sales representatives to close sales and gather market feedback.
• Communicate regularly with the sales force regarding the list, competition, important/key adoptions, and sales strategies.
• Help to manage key adopters, as well as to devise and implement short and long-term strategies for key competitive adoptions.
• Help to coordinate, develop, and communicate essential product information working with editors, authors, Regional Specialists and the advertising group.
• Plan and conduct product training sessions at two National Sales Meetings per year. This includes helping to set the agenda, managing and creating training activities, directing presenters, and coordinating collateral materials.
• Coordinate our presence at academic conferences and other impact events.
• Ensuring full exploitation of digital marketing opportunities including website management, email marketing, and customer relationship management.
Required Skills / Knowledge:
• Product knowledge and proven sales history.
• Demonstrated proficiency with technology.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to close adoptions.
• Willingness to travel.
Experience Needed:
• 3-5 years of successful sales experience in college publishing.
• Experience with digital marketing techniques including email marketing, contextual marketing, website development, web analytics, and customer relationship management is a plus.
Educational Background Required:
• Bachelor's degree
