The Senior Director of Activation operates within a global entertainment organization that provides strategy and planning, creative and design, production, and fabrication and measurement services to clients. This individual will offer leadership, guidance, and training in all areas of activation to include, but not limited to, equipment, pricing, staffing, procedures and P&L management. The Senior Director of Activation is responsible for managing all activities within the group to include production, quality control, and delivery schedule while controlling labor costs, monitoring team output, and ensuring activation standards are met. Responsible for the overall creative approach and production vision, as well as overseeing day-to-day coordination with various department contributors and management/hiring of activation team operations.
Essential Job Functions
• Lead and oversee all responsibilities of the Activation LOB.
• Work closely with all inter-company department heads directly to help ensure effective management and growth of the Activation LOB.
• Directly manage, hire, train, retain, and mentor Activation team members with the goal of building a best-in-class Activation department. Select team members may sit within other Feld departments, with accountability to the Activation team.
• Budget management related to each client, project, and staff travel.
• Directly manage larger experiences that have most bearing on budget.
• Develop strategies with outside agencies, consultants and contractors to supplement in-house expertise based upon current needs.
• Collaborate with Global Partnerships account managers to provide proof of performance and client management for each activation.
• Assist Global Partnerships new business development team with ideation, pricing and support during sales process.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business Operations, or similar field or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 10 years experience in activation activities for corporate clients fabrication or production industry, preferably within experiential marketing, event/tradeshow marketing, or similar capacity.
• Minimum of 4 years in a supervisory role.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Must have proven track record of effectively delegating and setting client and department objectives.
• Must be willing and able to travel approximately 30 – 35% of the time.
• Demonstrated excellent communication skills, including ability to express well-reasoned, independent thought.
• Strong leadership skills and self-awareness; organizational and project management abilities.
• Ability to meet challenging deadlines in an efficient and profitable manner.
• Budget development and management for event budgets.
• Manage multiple projects and timelines within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong team leadership and motivational skills.
