Position Overview
The Autodesk Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team is seeking a highly motivated Finance Manager to manage our long-term strategic planning model, related financial analyses and executive level presentations. This position will play a critical role in developing and maintaining a robust financial model which supports the company’s strategic objectives as well as driving executive alignment on inputs and outputs. This person will also lead a variety of analyses around financial metrics that are essential to measuring the success of our subscription transition and help management understand the context or 'why' behind our financial results and projections.
As an integral resource within the Finance organization, this position will partner with the Sales Finance and Business Strategy & Marketing (BSM) Finance teams to ensure a coordinated approach to financial planning. Additionally, the role will liaise with Investor Relations to support externally facing communications with outside analysts and investors.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who demonstrates excellent analytical ability, business savvy and communication skills together with experience in financial modeling. Responsibilities
• Principal ownership of our long-term corporate planning model for billings, revenue, subscriptions and ARR
• Coordinate with Sales Finance, BSM Finance and Financial Systems and Operations teams to lead the annual and long-term corporate planning model updates
• Prepare insightful analyses and executive level presentations summarizing the results and underlying assumptions that drive our annual and longer-term forecasts
• Partner with Investor Relations to provide commentary on our results and long-range plans. This includes designing and developing new and perceptive analyses particularly for our newer business model metrics including subscriptions, ARR and ARPS
• Lead the FP&A participation in cross-functional and/or global finance projects that support our long-term planning by partnering with Sales Finance, Revenue Accounting, BSM Finance and finance systems teams. Our goal is to drive efficient, integrated and consistent systems and processes
• Recommend and implement process improvements to achieve better results. Follow standards and ensure compliance with company policies
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required- CFA and/or MBA preferred
• Minimum 6+ years of related finance experience
• Experience with financial models and analyses
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Anaplan, Business Objects or knowledge of similar leading reporting packages/tools is a plus
• Prior experience in a high tech/software organization is a plus
• Ability to work cross functionally and as well as independently
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to teamwork and building effective relationships
• Adept at analyzing and understanding the trends and color within multiple views, including internal/management and external views
• Commitment to ongoing self/skills development, career planning, and work-life balance
• Comfort with the cyclicality of the role and the peaks and valleys of the workload, particularly around the quarter-end close
