The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) position provides HR support to the Technology HR team & client group, and provides tactical support across the ESPN HR Business Partner team to drive efficiencies.
Based in Bristol, this position joins a team of experienced HRBPs who support ESPN’s Technology Division. This role will have the primary focus of supporting Technology’s HR team, along with providing day-to-day assistance to Technology employees and leaders. In addition, the incumbent will provide tactical support across the entire ESPN HRBP group. The primary goals of the role are to enhance the employee experience for their assigned client group, support leadership success, and drive efficiencies across the HRBP team that ultimately helps the business achieve their goals.
Responsibilities HR Business Partner role:
• Serves as the HR Business Partner to the Technology organization to implement effective Human Resources solutions to business issues, strategies and initiatives
• Provides tactical support across the entire ESPN HR Business Partner team to drive efficiencies, including but not limited to report creation & maintenance, project management, and data tracking
• Acts as a resource to employees, including providing basic information and employee relations support to facilitate and maintain a culture of respect and inclusion
• Acts as a resource to entry- and middle-management leaders, providing day-to-day support and leadership coaching, to drive leadership success
• Interacts with client managers and staff to ensure full understanding of and compliance with applicable Human Resources policies and procedures
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Collects and provides basic analysis of client group data/metrics; identifies and communicates patterns and insights as appropriate
• Participates in and provides project management on assigned initiatives
• Collaborates with and brings awareness to centers of excellence on business initiatives and business needs
• Collects information/data, provides reporting, presentations, and project management for various processes, including but not limited to:
◦ Compensation, Performance Management, and Talent and Succession Planning cycles
◦ Compliance training
◦ Learning initiatives & internship process
◦ Organizational design & business reviews
◦ Employee off-boarding, job flagging, and job descriptions
◦ Organizational charts
• Coordinates and partners with other Human Resources professionals to implement Human Resources projects and initiatives
• Mediates simple to somewhat difficult employee and leader interactions and escalates issues as appropriate
Basic Qualifications
• Three or more years of general work experience with, at least one year of applicable experience in a generally related subject matter field (Human Resources, Business)
• Proven customer service skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborative and solution-focused
• Self-directed and proactive
• Strong Microsoft Word & Excel skills
• Excellent Organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects/assignments and adjust/prioritize
• Critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications
• HRBP experience in Technology division/company
• Knowledge of SAP reporting
• Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint
• Project management experience
• SHRM (or similar) HR Certification
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous circumstances
• Ability to navigate a complex, matrixed environment
• Comfortable challenging assumptions
Required Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Education or related field
