Hulu is a premium streaming TV destination that seeks to captivate and connect viewers with the stories they love. We’re looking for great people who are passionate about redefining TV through innovation, unconventional thinking and embracing fun. It’s a mission that takes some serious smart, intense curiosity and determination to be the best. Come be part of the team that’s powering play.
SUMMARY
Hulu’s Talent & Organization (“TAO”) team is seeking a Compensation Analyst who will be an exceptional addition to our TAO team. As a Compensation Analyst at Hulu, you will play a supporting role in the design, administration, and communication of all of Hulu’s compensation programs. The right person for this role is just as comfortable building Excel models as they are partnering directly with managers and business leads to educate and influence decisions around compensation. We are not looking for an order-taker, a compensation administrator, or a “best practices for best practices sake” applier. We need someone who can form an opinion on what our pay programs should look like at Hulu and gain buy-in and support for these opinions using data and logic. If you are someone who is a do-er, a great problem-solver, and a natural relationship builder, then this is a great role for you.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Take the lead on “one-off” market studies, pulling together a variety of data sources (e.g., turnover, hiring rates, market compensation) and developing recommended actions
• Partner with our recruiting team to ensure they have the compensation information and tools that they need to effectively do their jobs
• Partner with our HR Business Partners to benchmark jobs, conduct one-off compensation analyses, and equip them with information they need to effectively advise their business groups
• Partner with our internal Workday (Hulu’s HRIS System) lead to identify ways to streamline compensation benchmarking, analysis, and reporting using Workday
• Assist in updating and auditing compensation data in Workday, including continuing to improve upon the way that data is stored and maintained in the system
• Manage Hulu’s relationship with survey vendors, including overseeing our survey coordinator during annual survey participation process and researching additional surveys to fill gaps in our data
• Support projects (from conception through implementation) for major compensation program re-designs and one-off, complex analyses
• Play a key role in administering our sales compensation plan by supporting quarterly payout calculations, fielding team member questions, and reviewing the sales plan design to ensure it evolves with our growing sales team
WHAT TO BRING
• 3 to 5 years of professional experience with demonstrated success in the key responsibilities for this role
• Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, or related field
• Expert in MS Excel and proven experience building intuitive Excel models (vlookups are not enough!) and graphical displays of data
• Facility with quantitative data analysis and using data to drive decision-making
• Expert in MS PowerPoint
• Familiarity with sales compensation plans
• Experience in project management
• Highly organized and efficient
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
NICE-TO-HAVES
• Experience with key HR systems: MarketPay, Workday, and Jobvite
• Management or HR Consulting experience
• Experience with international compensation plans
