Campaign is seeking a US Editor to be the US leader of the Campaigneditorial brand, across online and live events. This position will report to the Global Editor-in-Chief and is based in New York, NY.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
• Lead an editorial team creating online content and representing the brand at live events, both in the US and overseas if required
• Conceive of, develop, and produce new, rich, innovative story ideas and concepts that uphold the brand's editorial strategy
• Oversee the development of the brand, alongside the Global Editor-in-Chief, to ensure all editorial products, and commercial products, are market-beating
• Manage a team and editorial budget effectively controlling costs
• Work with the Global Editor-in-Chief to develop future brand products including awards strategies and conference programmes and be the champion of these products
• Work with the UK and US content lab teams to execute branded content partnerships when an editorial moderator is required
• Partner with colleagues across departments to achieve reach and engagement goals across social media, web, and all live events, with a view to commercial success
• Work with colleagues from the global Campaign content teams to ensure relevant content is shared across territory with a special emphasis around the global media and global digital editors
• Work closely with the senior Campaign management team in the UK, maintaining excellent communication
• Effectively communicate the editorial strategy to all other team members and ensure this is upheld
• Manage and nurture the career development of other team members
• Assist with editorial staff recruitment and hiring when necessary.
• Maintain solid market awareness in order to identify new opportunities in which to expand the brand’s scope and public awareness
• Stay ahead of industry trends and own the development of thought leadership
• On a regular basis, liaise with commercial and brand teams to ensure goals are aligned
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of current editorial processes and best practices, sharing information across the group.
• Along with the Global Editor-in-Chief, establish a clear and concise overarching vision, including short and long term goals, and convey this to the US team
• Undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the post
Skills and Requirements:
• Significant experience in leading a successful editorial product
• Demonstrable leadership and team management experience
• Ability to work effectively and provide direction and leadership to a team under stringent deadline requirements
• Ability and willingness to collaborate closely with colleagues in marketing and the wider global Campaign content team and business leads
• Demonstrable ability to manage financial resources, budgetary planning, and prioritization of projects, editorial production, and activities
• Demonstrable ability to apply discretion and judgment in evaluating implications of publication and information release to internal and external audiences
• A proven ability in meeting deadlines and working calmly under pressure
• Strong leader and hands-on staff manager
• Fostering and developing a productive and efficient working environment
• Excellent contacts within the marcomms industry
