The Sales Analyst, will be responsible for in depth analysis and reporting on sales across the more than 100+ Gannett markets within the USA TODAY Network. The Sales Analyst will be responsible for gathering, interpreting, disseminating key data points to support the sales team, and providing a recommended course of action. This Analyst will utilize data extracts and relational databases to identify subscriber start and stop trends, set projections, and relate the story of the data in an easily understandable manner.
Not only will this analyst be on the front line for creating projections and revenue budgets, this position will also delve into the figures to identify challenges and improvement opportunities for sales mix and retention. Lastly, this position will compile, consolidate, and analyze data to support key decision-making and executive presentations.
A successful candidate will…
• Be an excel super user (Macros, VBA, indexing, v-lookups, advanced IF statements, indexing, arrays, Power Pivot)
• Have experience running queries (SQL) against multiple database
• Take initiative and uses a structured, analytical approach to problem solving and looks for process improvement opportunities
• Be comfortable working across the organization and consistently challenges the status quo and drives process improvement and accuracy across this segment of the organization
• Able to manipulate large amounts of data from disparate sources and ensure accuracy and integrity of numbers.
• Enjoy working in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment.
