Director, Performance Improvement and Business Transformation
Role Description
Based at TiVo’s headquarters, you will work in the company’s global strategy and corporate development team to identify and drive business transformation and cost reduction initiatives across the company’s product and functional groups. The ideal candidate will also help evaluate and execute growth strategies (including M&A) and can contribute to TiVo’s post-acquisition integration process (helping to realize the full value of M&A transactions). This role requires independent thinking, substantial business / financial analysis and program management expertise. You will be responsible for developing key relationships with TiVo’s internal business group and functional leaders.
Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
• Drive process and systematic improvements across the company:Partner with leaders throughout the organization to analyze TiVo’s business groups and functions, identifying cost improvement and revenue growth opportunities. Manage global cross-functional project teams, to execute complex and time sensitive business transformation initiatives. Support the preparation of presentation materials and recommendations for TiVo’s executive team and Board of Directors.
• Financial and Valuation Modeling: Build detailed financial and valuation models to assess potential cost reduction and business growth opportunities. Prepare and present business opportunity cases for review by key stakeholders.
• Build Relationships:Develop and maintain relationships with key leaders of operating groups within the company. Develop external network of industry contacts, investors, and investment banking / advisory executives in support of new TiVo opportunities.
• Deal Evaluation and Execution:Perform strategic analysis, helping to assess potential strategic transactions or investments. Contribute to the integration of acquired businesses, and perform other strategy and corporate business development tasks as assigned.
General Requirements, Abilities and Personal Traits:
• Strong financial modeling, data analysis and overall business opportunity modeling capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to conduct a rapid diagnostic of a business group / functional team, identifying strengths and weaknesses, product portfolio strategy and gaps, profitability and cost base, market position and options to expand performance.
• Facilitation and negotiation skills necessary to drive accountability and desired outcomes within global cross-functional teams.
• Ability to meet aggressive deadlines with multiple priorities and heavy workloads, while constantly managing stakeholder expectations.
• Ability to research potential strategic targets, comprehend and articulate complex concepts, and summarize compelling strategic rationales for new investments.
• Comfortable in a role that is highly visible across the TiVo organization, with opportunities to deliver briefings, analysis, and recommendations to senior and executive staff.
• Hands-on team player with excellent business judgement and integrity.
• Ambitious strategic thinker with the ability to listen and be perceptive of others.
• Ability to travel based on business needs (approximately 20%).
Experience and Educational Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in Corporate Finance and Restructuring or M&A Transactions role, preferably through Private Equity, Strategy Consulting or Investment Banking.
• Demonstrated experience building financial and valuation business models including:
◦ IRR/ROIC/NPV analysis.
◦ Revenue, margin and Quality of Earnings analysis.
◦ Discounted Cash Flow and merger models with accretion/dilution analysis.
◦ Comparables analysis based on public peers, precedent transactions and LBO metrics.
• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or similar quantitative field required. MBA from a top school preferred.
• Media and Entertainment or Software Technology industry experience preferred
