Taylor Corporation is seeking a Project Management and Event Planning Intern to join the Taylor Corporation Innovation Center team. The chosen candidate will work in close collaboration with the Innovation Center Coordinator and other interns, as well as, occasional interaction with community educators and corporate leadership. As a project and event management intern, you will assist in the planning and execution of tours, networking events, panels, and other activities; organize marketing efforts, and develop educational materials for a new intern engagement organization. This is a paid, real-world learning experience that will help set you on a bright career path with the potential for full-time placement within one of our companies.
Shift Available:
• Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, occasional before or after hours events
• Maximum of 30 hours per week, flexible schedule
Responsibilities Include:
• Assist in the planning and execution of networking, social, and educational activities (e.g. tours, panels, networking events, webinars, local events) for a new corporation-wide intern engagement program
• Assist in the creation and distribution of promotional materials (e.g. social media, email, video and web)
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans to track and measure program performance and interest
• Manage budgets and project scope; coordinate meeting requests, internal resources, and third party/vendor availability; assess project risks, and chart deliverable and milestone deadlines
• Monitor news and developments relating to, or impacting, corporation interns and supervisors
• Provide creative input on new marketing campaigns for student, intern, and corporation engagement
• Attend and engage with other attendees at virtual and in-person events
• Collaborate with the Innovation Center Coordinator in developing engaging videos for tours, interviews, and events
• Analyze industry standards, employee feedback and motivations, and competitor offerings
• Effectively communicate research findings and strategic rationale in verbal, visual, and written formats
• Work on occasional projects relating to market research, employee incentives, and marketing strategy
Minimum Qualifications:
• Pursuing or recently attained a degree in project management, business administration, event planning, communication, public relations, marketing, entrepreneurship, or other related degrees
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively as a team member
• Effective project management and event planning skills
• Capable of strategically managing and prioritizing multiple tasks on tight timelines
• Excellent copy-writing skills, interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Publisher), Google Documents, WordPress, and Skype
• Familiarity with Adobe design products is a plus (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Premiere)
• Strong administration and organizational skills
• Personable, presentable and articulate
• Ability to work out of our North Mankato, MN office with occasional travel
