Job purpose
To lead and manage the Denver corporate accounting team to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of our Denver corporate operations. The Corporate accounting function works together with our business control function and external financial reporting team.
Key Accountabilities
• Supervise corporate accounting, accounts payable functions and global intercompany transactions, ensuring compliance in preparation, reconciliation and evaluation of all accounts monthly
• Aligning business processes centrally to optimize workflows, driving simplicity and automation
• Address and resolve corporate accounting issues, including consultations with Technical Accounting as needed
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly financial results, including upload of results to HFM
• Respond to financial information requests from Chief Accounting Officer, Controller, Financial Reporting, Group Control, Tax
• Responsible for Denver Corporate Accounting budget and related rolling forecasts, including controlling department spend
• Assist Business Control & Business Owners with budget preparation as needed
• Prepare audit schedules and explain corporate transactions to auditors
• Ensure SOX compliance for general accounting processes
• Manage accounting related system implementations as needed
Knowledge & Experience
Preferred education/ qualifications:
• 4 year Bachelor’s degree required, emphasis in accounting, CPA preferred
Knowledge & Experience:
• 12+ years relevant work experience, including management experience, public accounting (Big 4) experience preferred
• Strong technical accounting skills
• Familiarity with US GAAP, exposure to IFRS a plus
• Knowledge of Oracle required, knowledge of HFM a plus
Skills & Abilities:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills – ability to communicate clearly and succinctly with senior leadership
• Organized and detail oriented
• Strong technology skills, particularly Excel, Oracle, Power Point
• Ability to work collaboratively in a culturally diverse, complex and demanding environment
• Ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work with others and foster strong relationships with colleagues
• Adheres to deadlines
