Position Summary:
This is a Manager, Quality Assurance will have responsibility for the Supply Chain QA Group. This includes the management and development of test strategies for functional validation/verification of the Supply Chain systems. This person will manage, maintain and enhance comprehensive progression and regression test plans and identify process improvements to increase the overall efficiency and test coverage. The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in waterfall and iterative development methodologies and will be expected to manage the development of risk-based testing approaches that can be applied across multiple supply platforms. The responsibilities include people management for a growing team in an environment where the scope of the testing is being expanded to cover a growing list of OEM and retail partners. Communication skills, clear issue prioritization and collaboration across multiple departments are key components for this position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage a growing Supply Chain QA Team.
• Manage Supply Chain QA resources across several programs and parallel projects. Includes forecasting, scheduling, and resource leveling.
• Provide senior level thought and leadership in the area of QA and risk management
• Manage project teams consisting of a variable number of projects resources including on-shore and potentially off-shore QA professionals
• Estimate level of effort against CR's and/or FRD's
• Provide clear and accurate QA and risk management assessments and recommendations through written reports and presentations.
• Mentor, train & motivate Supply Chain QA team members
• Functional progression and regression testing across new and legacy Supply Chain applications.
• Monitor and develop QA best practices and test strategies
• Provide roadmap for the risk-based testing approach for regression
• Ensure the quality of the solution by participating in all phases of the solution development lifecycle
• Continuously streamline and improve the testing life cycle to ensure test planning, execution, and reporting are effective, agile, and coordinated
• Works closely with the PMO, development, production support and business solutions to ensure that the quality objectives of all projects are met within schedule constraints
• Clearly communicate functional test results, concerns, and project status to the management team and other stakeholders in a timely manner
• Champion and advocate product quality throughout the organization
• Influence product requirements and release timelines as needed to ensure quality
• Manage and prioritize QA environment usage
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Direct supervisory responsibilities for the Supply Chain QA team
Minimum Qualifications:
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering (or equivalent) and a minimum of 7+ years of experience in a QA environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
Requirements and General Skills:
• Strong communication and presentation skills that can be directed toward technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with high volume, high-availability applications
• Experience with Websites, eCommerce, Billing Systems, Financial Systems, Database Management, Workflow Tracking Systems, Supply Chain systems, front and backend development
• Experienced leader focused on quality and the success of the customer
• Hands on experience with industry leady QA tools including HP/Mercury and IBM/Rational
• Proven track record in developing high quality test cases and scripts
• Knowledge of object oriented analysis and design
• In-depth, current expertise and demonstrated experience in all aspects of QA technology
• Expert level experience with QA methodologies and risk-based testing frameworks
• Extensive experience planning, implementing and directing manual test strategies
• Experience with the definition and implementation of manual testing framework and process
• Experience with formal methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, IEEE, SEI-CMM, RUP, etc.), standards, best practices, processes and/or procedures
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate with all management levels
• Ability to translate highly technical concepts into business-oriented language that enables non-technical audiences to understand technical needs
• Strong project management skills and experience
• Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience decomposing requirements and developing test strategies
• Ability to quickly learn new applications
• Ability to produce quality metrics/reports to determine quality levels within a project
• Excellent communication and persuasion skills to be a strong advocate for quality
• Work to implement and improve documented standards, guidelines and best practices for automation
• Apply new approaches and concepts to improve the productivity and efficiency of progression and regression testing
• Work within an existing testing methodology and provide expertise in updating or changing
• Mentor other team members, reviewing test plans and providing guidance and direction in updating, maintaining and making more efficient
• Strong organizational skills and attention to details
• Setting up manual execution schedules based on priority and full utilization of resources
• Experience and passion for building great teams, mentoring, and coaching staff
