Sr. Ad Production Supervisor - Team Leader
I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
Act as liaison and manage the flow of advertising materials from external agencies/advertisers to the Meredith Content Center and/or external vendors. Work closely with Meredith Production Managers, Ad Operations and Sales to verify and prepare production instructions related to advertising. Must possess strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills and have the ability to track and monitor a high volume of materials effectively. Knowledge of print and digital file workflow and ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers required.
Support team to traffic advertising materials used in print and digital production. Lead a team of Ad Production Supervisors and ensure comprehensive training and best practices are followed by all team members.
Scope of job covers support of team members, and managing flow of appropriate advertising files for all assigned Meredith print and/or digital entities. Responsibility entails compliance with advertiser instructions within context of mechanical standards and issued production schedules.
Team Leader will consistently perform at a level that meets or exceeds performance standards, as established by Associate Director, Premedia Services. Works closely with Director, Ad Production and Digital Operations to assign work, facilitate workload leveling and ensure best practices are being followed. Act as backup to Director, Ad Production and Digital Operations.
This position serves as the contact with various departments within company, as well as outside agencies/advertisers and vendors; therefore, exceptional customer service is required. Attention to detail has considerable impact on ad revenue and job profit. This person also deals with daily deadlines while managing ad materials with vendors and customers.
II. Essential Job Functions

60 Request, collect and track of all advertising in assigned Meredith titles/digital entities. Serve as control person for the collection of information relating to identification and processing of advertising units. Respond to and track any material extensions in accordance with the schedule. Manage flow of advertising materials to the Meredith Content Center and/or vendors. Serve as primary contact person in matters that have to do with the handling of materials and files through the preparation stages of processing. Prepare work instructions to accompany units through production by utilizing Sendmyad and/or other software when applicable.
20 Quality check ad files/materials by following quality check processes established for print, and digital editions.
15 Provide day-to-day training, guidance and support to team. Team Leader will participate in project management meetings to pre-plan new work and provide feedback for improvement on existing work. Team Leader will ensure implementation of best practices, provide ongoing team performance feedback and be involved with goal setting, hiring interviews, and mid-year reviews. Perform ongoing leadership responsibilities as assigned by the Director, Ad Production and Digital Operations.
5 Verify materials are released/assigned to appropriate page, position, timeframe in assigned Meredith titles/digital entities.

Education:
Degree preferred in related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Three years work experience in media publishing required, and previous formal leadership experience preferred.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Competency in business principles, mathematics and English. Ability to mult-task and meet deadlines consistently. Strong PC skills and knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Strong leadership and organizational skills. Ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly. Analytical skills necessary. Excellent telephone / customer relations skills.
