Job Summary:
The Strategic Sourcing Analyst is an integral role within the Vendor Management Office. The scope will include preliminary material acquisition through final production with this position acting as a key liaison between Design Engineering, New Product Development, Infrastructure/Operations and Suppliers. This position will oversee several companywide programs including Commodity Price Management, Strategic Sourcing Dashboarding/Metrics Creation and Maintenance, Request For Proposal(RFP) process development across multiple cost of sale and overhead commodities, Annual Savings Plan Development and Tracking, Contract Compliance Program Development, Vendor Performance Evaluation Program and identification/development of new discretionary spend sources.
The IT Vendor Sourcing Analyst’s primary responsibility is to provide decision support and financial analysis to the VMO to deliver higher quality, lower cost products and services. This will include performing decision analysis in support of strategic buying decisions, data analysis, market trend analysis and performance management. In addition, this role will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence in consolidating and reporting the organization’s KPIs and savings. The successful candidate will work closely with global and domestic cross-functional teams to help build a fact-based process which brings both operational efficiencies as well as cost savings. The individual will work actively to drive performance management, alignment and effectiveness. The role is accountable to stay abreast of the latest concepts in vendor management savings techniques and obtain most favored pricing wherever possible.
Responsibilities include:
• Quantify costs from a total cost of ownership (TCO) perspective across iHM-IT vendor mix to help identify opportunities to remove waste.
• Develop and review RFI, RFQ and RFP’s consistent with VMO best practices and policies.
• Perform supplier spend analysis for internal reporting purposes in support of sourcing activities.
• Interpret competitive market cost study results to provide timely, accurate, and concise summaries to be presented and utilized during supplier negotiations.
• Track supplier negotiations status and outcomes.
• Estimate cost savings potential of identified cost savings initiatives.
• Recommend supplier selection based on Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Integration criteria.
• Identify annually the most impactful areas for cost reduction across all commodities
• Develop plan of attack to realize highest savings as early in the year as possible
• Work with Corporate Accounting to include savings in budget process when possible
• Develop Senior Management and C-level reporting mechanisms
• Continually identify high impact projects for cost savings
• Facilitate the effort to consolidate and report the organization’s KPIs and savings.
• Provide support with the savings forecasting process to enhance performance management.
• Provide analytical support in researching market trends and updating key market indices.
• Collaborate effectively across different organizational levels, functions, businesses, and geographies to realize procurement goals and objectives.
• Provide ongoing support ‘post-wave’ to ensure projected savings are fully captured
• Prepare analysis in identifying future sourcing categories both locally and globally considering size and/or opportunity and impact to the organization.
• Monitor commodity market price trend, currency and labor rate trend
• Deep dive into data for accuracy and re-classification.
• Support finance to resolve invoice issues for on time payment to suppliers
• Performs other related duties and assignments as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management or a related field Is this required or preferred?
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in an analytical role required.
• Finance, Purchasing/Supply Chain and /or IT Vendor Management a plus
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office business suite
• Functional knowledge Finance related software such as Tableau, Cognos and other analytics applications a plus
• Ability to challenge process optimization at all levels of the organization
• Demonstrate a high degree of understanding of financial performance
• Ability to work in a team-oriented management environment while having an entrepreneurial attitude
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, especially experience expressing technical details in a concise and effective manner
• Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Knowledgeable and experienced with global service delivery models and shared service execution
• Clear thinker who anticipates and develops strategies for anticipated future consequences and trends
