Job Description
Job Summary:Uphold the Ellis and Associates standards of safety in the Aquatics area. Provide high level of safety and care in the Water Park. Supervise staff to including training, scheduling, discipline, and motivation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Attend and complete an Ellis and Associates International Pool and Lifeguard Training Program and be certified as a Special Facilities lifeguard.
• Attend and assist with all related in-service training sessions.
• Comply with all The Great Escape policies and procedures.
• Perform duties as a lifeguard or water attendant when necessary.
• Perform rescues and utilize lifesaving techniques when required.
• Operate in a safe manner.
• Willfully perform duties in any department when necessary.
• Be an active team member of the Operations Division and the Aquatics Department.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and team members.
• Follow all delegated tasks assigned by Aquatics Management or as stated in the Operations Standard Operating Procedures and the Ellis and Associates ILTP.
• Completes daily inspections and water quality tests to be recorded on NY State forms and company documents.
• Creates break schedules, and performs break rotations for area of responsibility.
• Coach and document employee events and discipline.
• Trains staff in accordance with Six Flags and The Great Escape standards.
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Organizational Relationship: Aquatics Manager
Skills and Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to complete pre-requisites and skills required to achieve "Special Facilities" certification.
• For safety purposes, the individual must be able to communicate effectively.
• Ability to actively communicate with large groups of Guests.
• Be available to work flexible hours at nights and on weekends within the limits of applicable Federal, State and facility labor laws and guidelines.
• Must be able to perform effectively in a supervisory capacity.
