The Traffic Coordinator is responsible for creating traffic instructions for TV and radio stations throughout North America, as well as coordinating the delivery of commercials.
Essential Job Functions
• Create traffic instructions for TV and radio.
• Send traffic to TV stations throughout North America.
• Deliver radio links and traffic.
• Work with promoters and delivery vendor to ensure TV spots are delivered to stations in the correct formats.
• Troubleshoot issues that arise in the delivery or traffic of broadcast materials.
• Create shipping lists for approved TV spots and work with the editors to put them on links, tapes, and/or external hard drives.
• Review spot reels at the end of the day to ensure all TV spots scheduled to ship are included.
• Submit Canadian TV spots to ASC and/or Telecaster for approvals and communicate associated costs to promoters.
• Maintain invoice workbooks and binders.
• Log TV spots into spot reel database.
• Follow up with TV stations to confirm receipt of commercials.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Broadcast, Advertising, or Business Administration.
• 1-3 years customer service experience.
• Prior use of automated workflow system preferred.
• Familiar with advertising/ broadcast production environments and processes (JPG, MOV, MP3, FTP, Hightail links, etc.)
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and follow-thru.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and familiar with PC-based Windows platform.
