iHeartMedia IT has begun a massive shift in the way we operate away from the traditional on-prem, dedicated infrastructure approach and towards the more flexible world of public cloud, agile development and CI/CD. This is a profound shift for us that has included big changes in our culture, skills and toolset. It affects the way we think about development, procurement, project/integration and operations. Along with the huge opportunities to increase our speed, flexility and efficiency, this shift also presents challenges in rethinking the way we work.
The Director, Cloud Operations and Automation, will be responsible for helping to define the future-state IT operations model for iHeart as we make our move towards agile + cloud + CI/CD and for developing and executing the plan to take us there. This key IT executive will be our thought leader as we move towards a platform and systems architecture and infrastructure that is highly automated, fully-instrumented, self-scaling, self-healing and loosely coupled.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Define the service model, interfaces, key operating metrics and ongoing processes for production support of our public cloud applications.
• Lead our wholesale move of legacy applications and systems from on-prem data centers and infrastructure to public cloud.
• Support legacy on-prem systems where necessary through our transition.
• Develop the skills, processes and toolset needed to operate a high-performing IT operations team that is well-suited to an agile + cloud + CI/CD ecosystem.
• Maximize automation to improve speed and quality while relentlessly driving low-value, repetitive work out of our operational activities.
• Work with our application delivery teams to design and build scalable and maintainable solutions for our customers.
• Track evolution of relevant technologies and introduce them into our ecosystem as appropriate to keep us abreast of prgoress.
• Develop baselines for governance, consumption/cost and performance to ensure that our elastic cloud-based applications operate efficiently, securely and with zero down time.
• Develop, maintain & execute patching support programs across all cloud and non-cloud environments.
• Develop and implement a seamless business continuity approach that takes advantage of public cloud capabilities.
• Create, manage and report against KPIs for cloud operations.
• Establish proactive incident management framework that includes practive escalation and communication with stakeholders and business partners as well as efficient, repeatable and measurable effective root cause analysis and problem management processes.
• Lead and drive the operational cloud readiness program, ensure services are well understood and the program adapts over time.
• Establish and maintain a data-driven team culture.
