Content Development Producer, SiriusXM Entertainment - FT Temp
Position Summary:
Produce and develop on-air programming that covers everything from celebrity pop culture to provocative news features to lifestyle (health, parenting, food, travel, fitness, style and more) for SiriusXM's lifestyle and entertainment stations. This will incorporate celebrity and expert interviews, pop culture and topical news and commentary, listener interactive segments, and remote broadcasts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Books celebrities, experts, and newsmakers for in-studio interviews.
• Plans segments and topics, and develops an editorial calendar for the show.
• Prepares detailed research materials and questions for host on topics and guests.
• Collaborates with host to generate relevant, topical, and captivating show segments and topics, while booking guests of interests of the audience.
• Screens listener phone calls for air.
• Curates and writes news stories and news headlines for on-air delivery by the host.
• Oversees the social media presence for the show.
• Prepares daily audio clips for program.
• Produces the overall sound of the show, including show production elements.
• Isolates and pushes audio clips to PR and the social media team for show promotion.
• Produces special shows, projects and event coverage in addition to regular daily show, and participate in breaking news coverage.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three to five years of relevant experience at a radio station, audio production facility, TV station, or with digital video.
Requirements and General Skills:
• Solid experience in content creation around pop culture and current events.
• Comfortable working with high profile talent and guests in a fast-paced, live studio environment.
• Strong relationships with publicists.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to pay attention to details and be organized
• Self-starter who thrives on creative.
• Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.
• Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
• Comfortable participating in conversation on air, as required.
• Ability and willingness to work outside business hours.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in:
◦ Microsoft Office,
◦ Adobe Audition,
◦ Prophet playout system,
◦ Google Docs.
• Mixing sound elements into a professional sounding product.
• Operating an audio board.
• Experience with social media platforms, including, but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.
