Description
Creative Time, New York City’s veteran and vanguard public arts presenter, seeks a full-time Operations Manager. The Operations Manager is an integral member of the Creative Time team assisting all departments with financial, operations and development needs. The ideal candidate has budget management expertise, is extremely organized and self-directed, and has excellent interpersonal skills.
The Operations Manager reports to and works with the Executive Director to generate fiscal budgets as well as oversee organizational infrastructure and human resources.
Responsibilities: The Operations Manager is responsible for all bookkeeping duties, banking and financial accounts, payroll administration, liability and workers comp insurance, Capital project needs, and human resources maintenance. The Operations Manager also oversees the Executive Assistant on matters relating to office management & infrastructure, vendor accounts & contracts, staff scheduling and the year-long internship program. Additional responsibilities include:
Financial Management:
· Write and disburse checks and enter deposits; manage accounts payable and receivable; reconcile bank statements
· Monitor organizational credit card
· Prepare fieldwork and oversee annual audit with CPA
· Manage all checking and investment accounts
· Compile and distribute financial statements related to grant proposals & final reports, project budgeting, fundraising campaigns and board meetings
HR Administration:
· Onboarding of new hires
· Maintain necessary liability and disability insurance
· Track staff PTOs and maintain employee handbook
· Administer health insurance benefits and review annual renewal
· Research and administer staff benefits such as wellness programs, TransitChek, and 403b retirement accounts
Operations:
· Serves as representative for ARC, the building’s governing board
· Attend and participate in FAB (Fourth Arts Block) membership meetings and community events
· Schedule, lead and draft agendas for all staff meetings
· Manage Capital project construction administration and liaise with City agencies
· Lead technology administration with regards to organizational Google Account, outside IT company, server and computer hardware and software maintenance, and staff training of new office technologies.
Requirements:
● Three to five years of finance/operations experience preferred, bookkeeping experience & knowledge of Quickbooks software a major plus
● Highly organized and motivated creative problem solver able to juggle many balls and excel in a fast paced environment;
● Excellent communication skills and discretion with sensitive information
● BA or equivalent required
● Personal investment in the history of Creative Time and the evolving role of public art is a big plus
● Must have a strong interest in contemporary art, popular culture, as well as public, urban, and social justice issues; and a big sense of humor
Salary: Salary to commensurate with experience. This position is full-time plus benefits.
