Position at Navitor
Navitor is seeking an Accounting Manager in its manufacturing plant to be a key member of the plant leadership team. The position is responsible for providing timely and accurate financial guidance and analytics to all levels of management in pursuit of the company’s financial and operational objectives. This position reports to the Director of Accounting.
Shift Available
• Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Responsibilities Include:
• Lead and direct finance team.
• Prepare period-end and statistical general ledger entries
• Prepare assigned monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
• Identify areas performing below expectations and arm management with information to be able to make timely decisions to improve the financial outlook.
• Develop reporting and understanding to explain key cost drivers; material cost, fixed and variable burden, labor, waste, etc.
• Develop reporting and understanding to explain key drivers of manufacturing efficiency, production recoveries, utilization, scrap, labor, and machine rates, etc.
• Develop and provide management reporting function for key manufacturing performance metrics and ad-hoc reporting requirements.
• Actively participate in oversight on cost reduction efforts by identifying, evaluating, and monitoring cost reduction programs and initiatives.
• Generate financial and operational reports for use by plant management team to identify variances and cost savings opportunities.
• Develop annual budget in conjunction with plant and corporate financial management teams.
• Develop and maintain proper internal controls and documentation of processes and job duties.
• Assist all facets of the company in developing accounting month-end and quarter-end best practices.
• Ability to independently communicate with external and internal auditors.
• Prepare Monthly and Quarterly reports for accounting, business representatives, and external auditors.
• Independently generate and analyze information to highlight areas for management attention.
• Comply US GAAP, SOX, and all Company policies including Safety, Ethical Conduct, and Financial Reporting.
• Provide key financial oversight on physical inventory; safeguarding of assets, cycle count and physical count adjustments, and excess and obsolescence reserve.
Minimum Qualifications:
• BS degree in Accounting/Finance or related major.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate business processes in a broad context.
• Possess a consultative mindset that promotes improvements in operating effectiveness, efficiency, and net income.
• Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management to direct activities and obtain management’s agreement when corrective action is required.
• The ability to manage and coordinate multiple activities and shifting priorities under tight timeframes.
• Self-starter who can manage projects so that areas of greatest risk are reviewed and issues are covered with management.
• Change-agent focus.
• Ability to get results and can proactively and autonomously drive initiatives and projects from start to finish.
• Team player who thrives in both leadership and individual contributor assignments.
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to drive issues to resolution.
• PC literate with strong proficiency in Excel.
• Minimum of five years of experience in financial analysis, public accounting, or cost accounting within a large company.
