Description
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for preparing financial statements and analyses for number of departments and products areas. The Accounting Manager will ensure that the financial records are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and NGP policies. The Accounting Manager will participate in special projects as assigned by management. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional communication skills, is well organized, detail oriented, and has excellent time management skills.
Resonsibilities
• Review general ledger transactions, prepare journal entries, analyze variances, and reconcile balance sheet accounts. Maintain the integrity of all accounting records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and company policies. Participate in monthly close process by reviewing general ledger detail, working with department heads and managers, preparing journal entries and explaining variances to plan and projection.
• Participates in special projects as assigned by management. Performs ad hoc account analysis as necessary and other accounting and finance duties as assigned. Provides audit schedules and support for external and internal audits.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships with managers and staff and provides them with necessary financial results and analyses, explanation of NGP’s accounting policies and procedures, and other general business guidance.
• Create, update and maintain policies and procedures for assigned areas of responsibilities.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required. CPA is a strong plus. At least five years of relevant accounting experience including a strong understanding of GAAP and financial controls.
• Solid written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify problems, develop solutions and take action to resolve issues.
• PC skills including Microsoft Office applications and enterprise GL solutions. Intermediate experience with Excel required. Knowledge of JD Edwards and Workday is a strong plus.
• Strong technical accounting skills. Ability to prioritize workload, manage time efficiently, and meet required deadlines. Must be detail oriented, able to perform account analysis and reconciliation.
• Motivated and dependable, and able to work independently and as a member of a team.
