We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic professionals with experience in Account Retention and Customer -facing roles to fill our open Account Retention Specialist role. Due to our “deep bookbag” of products, we need dedicated and quick learning professionals who have worked with complex, customizable products.

In order to be successful, the Account Retention Specialist must be self-driven and have excellent communication, presentation, problem solving, organizational, and computer skills. In this role, you will be partnered with a team of two to four field based sales hunters. As their partner your role will be focused on business retention working installed business at accounts your team is aligned to. You will do this by managing installed business and upselling activates, while reporting to an assigned Regional Manager. This will be the ideal role for someone looking to move into an outside sales position. This position is based in Maryland Heights, MO.
Job description:
Your primary role will be working with a team of sales partners. In this role, you will be handling account maintenance task, managing installed business while promoting health science textbooks and digital products to Nursing and Health Professions Programs and Key Decision Makers in Higher Education Institutions and managing account maintenance. This position will require you to be very proactive, anticipating and identifying customer needs. You will be trained on all products to demonstrate the full value of the Elsevier product suite, which include textbooks, online, and electronic educational resources. As an Account Retention Specialist at Elsevier, you will work with your team of sales and assigned accounts to transform their programs and implement digital solutions. This position is expected to maintain and grow the Elsevier brand through product retention and further solution development.
What you should bring
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
• 1-2 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Customer Service or other Customer-facing roles
• Proven track record of sales success is ideal but not required
• Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment and autonomously with above average skills in self learning, prioritization, and time management
• Must be detail-oriented, possess the ability to manage the sales process with multiple customers at all stages and maintain excellent customer support across the territory.
• Requires an individual with the ability to probe, recognize customer’s needs, convey solutions and maintain a positive and professional image via telephone, email, webinar and in person with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
• Ability to track and manage successful implementation of digital learning solutions
• A passion to get the maximum satisfaction of your customers
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills in English
• Background in customer engagement and driving customer adoption
• A genuine interest in health science education and the integration of technology into the educational arena
• High-energy, positive attitude
• Travel less than 5%
