Job Description
Hatch exists to create and deploy innovative, cross-platform sales solutions that drive incremental revenue for all TEGNA business units. We leverage a growing portfolio of media properties (including broadcast, digital and OTT) to design game-changing marketing solutions for high-value clients across the country.
TEGNA has an immediate opportunity for a BIG IDEA person. Do you have a natural talent for coming up with great ideas for clients? Are you a creative thinker? Are you the one everyone else comes to when they need a good idea? Can you come up with ideas on the fly…literally off the top of your head? Can you effectively communicate your creative ideas to a client through storytelling? If so, we should talk, because we have an amazing opportunity in one of the fastest growing companies in the media space. We’re looking for a Don Draper or Peggy Olson here…(and if you have to look that up…this is probably not the right gig for you)!
In this key role, you will be the principal ideator…responsible for feeding great ideas to marketing team members who are working with clients at media properties all over the country. You’ll also be the principal solution designer for the agency – which means you have to be able to take your great idea and turn it into a marketing plan for a client. Our portfolio includes 46 television stations, G/O Digital (a full-service digital advertising company) and Premion, our proprietary OTT solution. Your job is to come up with creative ways to leverage these awesome assets for big clients.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Partner with multiple stakeholders to identify sales opportunities by vertical
• Brainstorm and collaborate with AE’s, Managers and Hatch personnel to identify winning strategies and creative solutions to secure new business from high-value clients
• Identify actionable insights, support information gathering and deep-dive analysis of clients, categories, digital opportunities, market conditions and competitive analysis
• Create integrated marketing and advertising proposals. You don’t have to be a graphic designer, we have that covered – but you do have to be able to tell the story and work with the design team to layout your vision.
• Keep projects on schedule and manage development process – including dates and assignments
• Collaborate with sales partners at our media properties and your peers on the Hatch team to ensure a high level of service is delivered and our campaign execution is flawless
• Speed is essential. You must be able to think fast…work fast…and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Offer guidance, advice, feedback and expertise to other Hatch team members as well as to station personnel
• Other duties and responsibilities as may be required to ensure the success of TEGNA and Hatch
Job Requirements
Position Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years experience in sales, marketing and/or public relations with demonstrated proficiency developing creative solutions for clients (electronic media experience preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentations to stations and clients
• Demonstrated proficiency in writing presentations and working in Powerpoint
• Must be highly experienced in digital advertising/communications, social media and multi-platform solutions
• Must be able to think on your feet and ideate/problem solve real time with sellers & clients
• Familiarity with Salesforce.com a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations or a related field of study
• Must be a self-starter, comfortable working in a fast-paced, high change environment in constant evolution
• Must be a team player, comfortable working in a highly collaborative, open-office environment
• Open, honest communication skills and willingness to give and receive constructive feedback are essential to ensuring Hatch output is of the very best quality
