Job Description
WXIA-TV is seeking to hire a part-time Help Desk Producer for our daily newscasts. This is an entry level position. We are looking for new journalists to help look into story ideas and connect with the community. Candidates will be asked to help on special projects as well as log sound bites and video for use in news stories.
Candidates will research stories as well as assist with providing content for the digital section. They will perform other job related duties. This includes providing support to the Assignment Desk, as well as the anchors, reporters and producers in newscast production.
Job Requirements
Requirements/Qualifications:
Qualified Candidates should be interested in line producing and working with other divisions in the newsroom
• Previous experience in a newsroom
• Ability to remain calm under deadline pressure
• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism/ Mass Communications
• Help Desk producers will work approx. 25 hrs a week; varied hours available
• Good attitude and team player
• This is an entry level position
