Townsquare Media in Bangor, Maine is looking for a talented, energetic person to assist the Live Event Manager (LEM) in the development, planning, marketing, selling & execution of Live Events. Townsquare Media Bangor produces 15+ live events a year including beer & wine festivals, food & music festivals, consumer shows and more.
The position will be responsible for:
• Coordinating of all aspects of event planning, promotion and production
• Organizing all in-house planning and logistics for each event: managing timelines, calendars and assigning responsibilities among local staff
• Managing all customer service and inquiries from vendors & volunteers
• Developing a familiarity with the Bangor market and our products, including broadcasting, commerce, and digital marketing assets
• Event sales and working with local sales force to drive vendor booth sales and sponsorship sales
• Working with the LEM and local programming team to promote and drive ticket sales through effective event marketing and creative promotional ideas
• Managing social media for all events
• With the LEM, responsible for creating and driving revenue, and managing expenses
• Staying on top of entertainment and event trends to help research and implement potential shows and tours through our market
The position will report directly to the Live Events Manager, but will also work with the corporate live events team, based in Connecticut.
Job Qualifications
Ideal candidates will possess one or more of the following:
• 1-3 years of experience in live event production (either from an agency, venue, production company, or tour/concert promoter)
• Deep familiarity with MS Office suite products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
• Existing relationships with local agencies and venues
• Social media promotional experience (Word Press, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
• Familiarity with cost management and show settlement procedures
• Some production oversight experience (staging, sound & lights, pipe & drape)
• Eagerness to work hard, learn, and be part of a growing and fast-moving live events team with upward mobility for successful employees
• Nights and weekends are required
Compensation:Commensurate with experience.
