Overview

The Marketing Manager develops and executes marketing campaigns and provides post campaign analysis for assigned projects. The Marketing Manager is responsible for managing various projects simultaneously and works with various internal departments and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
• Develop and execute marketing plans for assigned projects in collaboration with authors, course leaders and their team members.
• Work with Vice President, Marketing and author team to develop strategy, tactics, and messaging for new book and e-course releases and backlist products.
• Collaborate with editorial teams in developing marketing copy for book back covers, e-course descriptions, and metadata for search engines and e-commerce partners.
• Develop inbound, funnel, social media and email marketing campaigns.
• Develop and continuously improve relationships with key sales accounts and sales representatives.
• Create presentation, marketing, and sales tools for both the sales staff and distributors; present new products and marketing campaigns as required.
• Provide return-on-investment metrics and reports for campaigns and overall platform growth.
• Responsible for engaging and managing freelance marketing firms.
• Work closely with Publicity Manager or external public relations firm for coordinated campaigns.
• Coordinate marketing materials for conferences, trade shows, and events as assigned.
• Travel for presentations and launch events, conferences, and trade shows as needed.
• Analyze marketing campaigns and make recommendations for adjustments and improvement based on those results.
Qualifications
Knowledge/Work Experience:5+ years marketing related experience. Minimum of 2 years’ experience related to book marketing required.
Education:Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, public relations, design, or related field.
Industry Knowledge:Clear understanding of the publishing and/or e-learning industries, marketing and publicity practices. Understanding of modern integrated digital marketing technologies and best practices.
Skills:
• Able to manage multiple projects and work with multiple teams including agencies, designers, and sales.
• Extensive ability to develop, manage, and report on results of digital marketing campaigns, including digital marketing platforms and systems such as BM Watson Campaign Automation (SilverPop), HubSpot, InfusionSoft or similar.
• Experience developing inbound landing pages and forms a plus.
• Ability to develop and manage multiple digital marketing campaigns and provide reporting.
• Comfortable presenting to small groups and large audiences.
• Extremely detail oriented and experienced in multi-tasking in the management of all aspects of marketing
• Strong computer skills necessary, especially Microsoft Office. Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, and other Adobe Creative Suite applications is a plus.
