Curriculum Developer, EL

Join a team of curriculum writers to modify and create scaffolding strategies in Amplify’s digital curricula, review existing content for apps and curriculum, and help Amplify best support support English Learners (ELs) across its ELA products.
Responsibilities of the Curriculum Developer, EL:
• Write and review ELA curricular material, apps, and digital activities for ELs
• Develop scaffolding and strategies for existing content that will result in real learning and measurable improvement in ELL student performance in reading and writing
• Apply EL instructional strategies and modifications to all levels of Amplify curriculum and supplemental programs
• Contribute your understanding of best practices, classroom conditions, and the ways in which EL students best learn, to help other content authors write accessible material
• Remain abreast of current developments and research in EL teaching practices
Basic Qualifications of the Curriculum Developer, EL:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5+ years of experience creating English language learning instructional materials for a range of proficiency levels
• Demonstrated writing skills
• Proven experience working with 4th-9th grade students in the classroom
Preferred Qualifications of the Curriculum Developer, EL:
• Master’s Degree in TESOL
• 5+ years of K to 12 ESOL classroom teaching experience
• Flexibility, ability to work under tight deadlines, willingness to revise or update writing based on feedback from reviewers or editors, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, self-disciplined in setting and meeting short-term and long-term deadlines
